Soil Testing

Soil Testing

Our Geotechnical Engineering and Soil Testing experience spans over a 30 year period during which we have successfully completed over 25,000 site investigations for a variety of new building and engineering projects. We have had extensive experience investigating sites throughout South East Queensland, with experienced Technicians and Engineers operating from our Toowoomba based office and soil laboratory. We regularly visit all surrounding regions. We are proud of our long and successful history of Soil Testing and Investigation. Our professional Structural and Civil Engineering capacity enables us to provide the following services:

Site Investigations as required for housing, industrial and commercial building projects including determining Site Classifications as required by AS2870 – The Australian Standard Code for Residential Slabs and Footings

Our drill rigs are capable of drilling to depths of over eight (8) metres and our normal site investigation procedure is to drill at least two (2) test holes on each site (depending on the size and type of development)

  • Detailed logging of soil profiles
  • Assessments of site conditions
  • Land and Slope Stability appraisals, reporting and analysis
  • Soaked CBR Testing for new roadworks and pavement designs
  • Soil Permeability Assessments for on-site waste disposal design to AS1547
  • Compaction Testing
  • Nuclear Densometer Testing for soil density and compaction.
  • Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) Testing
  • Sieve Analysis of soils
We regularly visit all areas including Allora, Stanthorpe, Tenterfield, Warwick, Goondiwindi, Roma, Miles, Dalby, Kingaroy, Gatton, Withcott, Highfields, Meringandan, Crows Nest, Nanango, Cabarlah, Lowood, Laidley, Pittsworth, Millmerran, Clifton, Wandoan, Tambo, and most adjoining areas.

This 152 lot subdivision involved the construction of roadworks, sewer drainage, stormwater drainage, town water supply, bio-retention, retaining walls and earthwork designs. The design work included the requirements for a sewer pump station and rising main which was designed to cater for around 450 residents . The second stage of this subdivision which will include the remaining 100 blocks will soon go out to tender. Reid Consulting Engineers undertook all design and supervision, completed project management during construction and the soil testing requirements for the project together with the completion of as-constructed surveys was undertaken by our in-house surveying and soil testing staff.
